To take one example of thousands in the bible.I only use this as they are arguing about it over on reddit.
The myth of Cain and Abel is telling us a story of the cycle of the year.....particularly the two equinoxes.
Abel represents the spring equinox......lambing time.....spring lambs.
Cain represents the autumnal equinox.....harvest time....fruit and veg abound.
The spring equinox is the start of light as the sun passes over the equator.
The autumnal equinox is the start of darkness as the sun dips below the equator heading to the tropic of capricorn.
Abel gives god a lamb and receives his favour....of course he does!.....he now enters into the light/day part of the yearly cycle.
However naughty Cain brings the harvest and receives judgement.....he is heading down to the land of nod....this is the dark/night part of the cycle.....and at night.....we all go to the land of nod also....the earth falls asleep waiting for the sun at the next spring equinox.
The two thieves at each side of Jesus are telling the same story.....one recieves favour and heads into paradise/garden/growing time of the year/light/day....heaven!
And the naughty thief heads into the dark/perdition/night/ part of the year at the autumnal equinox.....Jesus is at this part of the cycle when he gets judged......now when do you get judged?......at the scales of justice in the sign of Libra!......the sign at the autumn equinox.
This is what myths and stories are telling us.....real truths in stories.....the problem lies with the one who focuses on the outer garment....not bothering to see what it covers.

I don't know so much about it being religious.....Jimmy Savile was doing his thing uninterrupted and nothing was done about him despite it being an open secret.....He was allowed to canoodle with royalty,spend weekends with Thatcher,give advice to the Israeli govt..and this is a bloody DJ!..and yet despite all known about him.....he seemed to get through what i would expect to be mandatory background checks.And what about the Lolita express?What about the Franklin cover up?
